APR HANDBALL CLUB have started preparations for the upcoming East African military games to be staged in Zanzibar from August 17-30. APR handball club, which will be making their fourth appearance in the Games, have embarked on relatively early preparations to boost chances of winning silverware in the annual Games. Head coach Vianney Munyangondo said: “We want to break the jinx this time round and come back with at least trophy in handball.” He added: “All the 18 provisional players summoned in the camp are doing great and we hope to select the 14 best players who will go to Zanzibar.” The team includes Andrew Ndagijimana, Dieudonne Nyirimanzi, Etienne Iyakuremye, Jean Bosco Nkunduwawe, Olivier Ntwali, Vianney Rwamanywa, Mbonyinshuti Gilbert, Gilbert Mutuyimana, Nzibonera Gilbert, Amon Nzibonera, Joseph Akumuntu, Rukundo Bienvenue, Vincent Habimana, Alfred Iyamuremye and Ivan Nshimirwa. This year, the country’s delegation to the EAC military games will be comprised of five sports disciplines, namely; handball, netball, Athletics, football and basketball.
