RWANDA NATIONAL Football League side Musanze FC have signed eight new players ahead of the forthcoming 2014/2015 season slated to begin mid next month. The eight players include one goalkeeper, three defenders, two midfielders and two strikers. They all signed a two-year contract, according to the club Technical Director Rafiki Nshimiyimana. The new arrivals at the club are; goalie Danny Baritazari from Gicumbi FC, right-back Jean Paul Uwimana from AS Muhanga, central defender Juma Habimana and Left-back Djarud Ntakirutimana from Mukura VS, defending midfielder Rodrigue Mazuru and forward Hassan Habimana from Mukura. Others are; strikers Pappy Chimanga from Espoir FC and Zubere Ntirenganya from second division side Bugesera FC. Musanze finished seventh in the last two seasons. This time the team will be looking to storm into better ranks with the newly appointed coach Godfroid Okoko, who was in charge of former Amagaju FC last season. “We are glad for the eight arrivals at the club and hope they will help us have a successful season. We finished seventh in the last two seasons but we want to finish in the top five in the forthcoming season,” Nshimiyimana told Saturday Sport. He also noted that they plan to sign one more defender before the new season starts. Northern Province-based Musanze FC kicked-off pre-season training on July 30. They sold last season’s top scorer Wai Yeka to newly promoted Sunrise FC last week.
