Vateurs Rwamanywa scored 12 goals as APR beat Nyakabanda 36-26 on Sunday to boost their hopes of finishing in the top three of the national handball league. With seven games remaining, APR are in the fourth position with 22 points, two points behind third-placed ES Kigoma. Police lead the table with 33 points but having played three games more than APR. On the score sheet was Jean Paul Nyirimanzi whose seven goals helped the military side overhaul Nyakabanda, who remain sixth in the nine-team league table standing with 16 points. After the game APR trainer Vianney Munyangando praised his team’s performance. “It’s the concerted efforts that have made it for us and we must continue like that until the end of the season, congratulations to my players,” he said.
