A while back, in these same pages, I scribbled some things about, and leveled a few accusations against Nyamirambo, that altogether are not worth giving a second mention. For instance, in that ill-judged article, I recklessly and maliciously remixed the word Nyamirambo and came out with like Nyami-juice. Looking back, what was that? What on earth is Nyami-juice? At the very best, that was old skool Nyamirambo. The new Nyamirambo is one where you won’t need to walk into a nameless and faceless “mama baby”-style eatery all in the name of Asusa. There …a new word that is likely to make its appearance on these pages for some time to come, just like those other words that never want to take a break from here - words that have seen some one ask if indeed the writer deserves the same pay for a story in which he keeps smuggling the same words already over-used in previous columns. In the interest of full disclosure, the words that had made Loose Talk their home are too many to enumerate, so I will just try: Musanze. Kinigi. Nyirangarama. Agashya. NPD Cotraco at work. And how could I even forget Ugize ikibazo hamagara? Need I go on? I actually met a reader who told me he was sick and tired of the excessive usage of words like Celery (or Serere) and Virunga Express and Belvedere and Amata na fanta bikonje and who wondered if I was addicted to them. So in public interest, no more mention of the above listed words around here. In fact, those words shall only be mentioned again if it is due to public demand. Of course, prior to this deviation, the topic was Asusa, a generic Nyamirambo term I do not intend to dangle in your face like I did … Ugize ikibazo hamagara, for which I had good reasons.
