Editor, REFERENCE IS made to Gitura Mwaura’s article, “Why affirmative action may not be the answer” (The New Times, July 18). Talk about the reverse gender-based violence on the rise in the city and the belief that it has to do with “gender equality/women empowerment” or the negative interpretation and implementation. I tend to believe that “gender inequality” as a problem statement is lacking because a woman is at the same time your mother, sister, daughter and wife. Why on earth would a man hold the former so dear and abuse the latter? Zamu Isma, Rwanda
