The Chief of Defence Staff of Rwanda Defence Force (RDF), Gen. Mubarakh Muganga, on Tuesday, September 19, met with the Chief of Staff of Qatari Armed Forces, Lt. Gen. Salem bin Hamad bin Aqil Al Nabit, in Doha, according to Qatar News Agency. The two army chiefs discussed topics of common interest and ways to enhance and develop those interests, it is reported, in a meeting also attended by a number of senior officers in the Qatari Armed Forces. ALSO READ: Students from Qatar’s Joaan bin Jassim Academy visit Rwanda In May, a delegation of the Joint Command and Staff Course at Joaan Bin Jassim Academy for Defence Studies, in Qatar, comprised of 37 students and faculty were on study tour in Rwanda. They visited the RDF Command and Staff College Nyakinama. ALSO READ: Two RDF officers complete aeronautic studies in Qatar In July 2022, a Rwandan delegation led by Brig. Gen. Patrick Karuretwa, attended the graduation ceremony of the Joint Command and Staff Course at Joaan bin Jassim Academy for Defence Studies in Al-Khor, Qatar. Two RDF senior officers were among the graduates. In January 2021, two Rwandan officer cadets graduated as pilots from Al Zaeem Air College in Qatar. Rwanda and Qatar enjoy cooperation in different areas including security and air travel.
