Dear Editor, On behalf of many Rwandans I would wish to express heartfelt condolences to all Zambians on the death of President Levy Mwanawasa. It was sad to learn from the Vice President Rupiah Banda that the President died in a French hospital yesterday after suffering a stroke several weeks ago. Africa has indeed lost an icon. President Mwanawasa was one of the strongest critics of Zimbabwe’s Robert Mugabe and will be remembered for his active role in fighting corruption. As Banda takes on the role as acting President, we wish Zambia peaceful elections as they chose a new leader. May His soul Rest in Peace. Kigali
