Editor, Refer to Junior Sabena Mutabazi’s article, “Do we treat the RDF with deserved respect, fairness?” (The New Times, July 3). Often times I sense that we civilians take for granted that we have the right to safety and security, and that our armed forces have the duty to guarantee that safety and security, to the point of risking their lives. It is refreshing to read a column by a civilian who flips the coin and emphasises that we citizens also have a duty to provide for our forces and they have the right to expect it from us. J.
