Rwanda Volleyball Federation plans to start preparing the junior and youth teams, which will compete in this year’s African Championships. The competitions in both categories are slated for September, but the dates are yet to be confirmed. According to the Rwanda Volleyball Federation General Secretary, Christian Hatumimana, the aim is to prepare the teams and to look for the top two places in the competitions. “We are looking at ways of preparing players for this year Africa championships, which will be played in September so we are trying to get everything needed to have strong teams” Hatumimana said recently. Last year, the federation started early to prepare players from primary and secondary schools, which resulted into two beach volleyball teams playing in the World Championships held in Poland. The U19 (boys) competed in world championships in Mexico this month, and the U21, which played in the world championships in Turkey last year.
