Coach Andre Casa Mbungo might leave the Amavubi assistant coaching role as his club AS Kigali ponders to renew his contract. “I am in talks with AS Kigali over a possibility of renewing my contract. Talks have reached advanced stages and hopefully soon, the deal will be finalised,” Mbungo said. “For the national team, we were given a one-month contract with a promise of giving us a permanent deal just like the head coach. If nothing is done, I will continue pursuing my career as a club coach,” added Mbungo. Mbungo was in charge of Amavubi when they played a goalless draw against Libya in Tunisia in the first leg of the 2015 Africa Nations Cup qualifier. The return leg was managed by new coach Stephen Constantine. The Ferwafa Secretary General Olivier Mulindahabi said that the Amavubi local coaches will be given permanent contracts before the next crucial qualifier against Congo Brazzaville scheduled for July 18-20. Head coach Constantine, who was given a two-year contract earns $11,000 (about Rwf7m) per month.
