That is the situation Rwanda national women football team will be in today when they take on Nigeria’s Super Falcons in the return leg of the final round of qualifiers for the 2014 Africa Women Championship finals. The seven-time African champions host Rwanda in the country’s Northern state of Kaduna at the Ahmadu Bello stadium this afternoon. The first-leg match held two weeks ago in Rwanda ended 4-1 in favour of the West Africans. “I can’t promise miracles to Rwandans. We are going to Nigeria to do the best we can against Africa’s best team. For us, this is a learning curve for the girls and everyone else connected to Rwanda women football. The 4-1 first-leg defeat is hard to overcome by any team,” She-Amavubi head coach Grace Nyinawumuntu said before the team’s departure on Wednesday. The finals tournament will be held in Namibia from October 11- 24. Seven teams to join hosts Namibia will be revealed this weekend as the qualifiers’ curtain folds up. But before the second leg matches, South Africa’s Banyana has already booked a place in the final tournament following the withdrawal of Comoros, who suffered a 13-0 loss in the first leg in Comoros. Meanwhile, the Super Falcons coach Edwin Okon, has said that his girls will play the match like their whole life depends on the game. We won’t be over confident when we play Rwanda. We would not be complacent, said Okon.
