AT THIS time of the year, the weather is slowly becoming too hot to bear; the sun rises as early as 6:00am and sticks around till 6:00pm leaving behind sun burnt faces and cracked lips. The season calls for slight adjustments in the wardrobe to get through comfortably. Below are a few ways to survive the weather without losing a few friends because of your look. Invest in cologne There is no aphrodisiac in sweat, scientists lie - it does not attract women, it repels them, and fast for that matter. If you only got as far as cologne previously, now would be a good time to use some deodorant or roll on or else you will be afraid to lift your arms all day. Sun glasses come in handy In colder times, you probably wore sun glasses for reasons other than to shield your eyes from the harsh sunlight, but now the weather is your top reason, coolness comes second. Choose a pair or two that suit your face structure. Don’t purchase them because a rapper wore similar ones in his music video. Avoid getting carried away by trends while purchasing sunglasses as they may not be fit for the shape of your face. Brightly coloured sunglasses are only acceptable if you are matching them with the rest or part of your outfit. Avoid cheap sunglasses; they have an effect on your eyesight. They let through UV rays that have a list of consequences. Under-shirts If you are one of those who prefer to throw on a shirt with nothing underneath it, you may want to reconsider your decision. Undershirts will serve to absorb your sweat which would have otherwise shown through your shirt or worse, armpits full of sweat. They serve to spare you from embarrassing moments in public. Avoid dark coloured clothes If you sat in a physics class, you will recall your teacher saying that dark colours retain heat and light colours are best if you do not want to retain it. You do not believe me? Why is it that people from the Middle East prefer white robes to black ones? You will be fine without a blazer If you are one of those chaps whose office dress code requires them to be officially dressed, you can go ahead with the neck tie arrangement but stop it at that, coats can rest for the time being.
