In a bid to improve the livelihood of the population, local insurance company, Sonarwa last week donated Friesian cows to Genocide survivors in Mbazi Sector, Huye District. The ten cows were donated at the time when Sonarwa commemorated the company’s employees who were killed in the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. Speaking on behalf of the institution, Twahirwa Mugabo said the cows will help the needy families get milk and fertilisers for their crops. Jean Baptiste Karangwa, the executive secretary of Mbazi Sector, urged other corporate entities to emulate the insurance company by giving back to the community. “We do appreciate the assistance and we would love to see more insurance companies and organisations complimenting government programmes in transforming the lives of the population,” he added.
