July, 18–20 First leg Congo vs Rwanda Amavubi Stars will face Congo Brazzaville in the final preliminary qualifying round of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Morocco. Congo set up the tie after they thrashed Namibia 3-0 in the second leg match on Sunday. Namibia won the first leg 1-0. Congo will host the first leg on the weekend of July 18–20. Stephen Constantine’s Amavubi team must avoid conceding goals in Congo before hosting the second leg in Kigali two weeks later. To reach this round, Rwanda humiliated the 2013 Chan winners Libya 3-0 in second leg at Kigali Regional Stadium. The first leg ended 0-0 in Tunis. Dady Birori made history by becoming the first Amavubi striker to score a hat-trick in a competitive international match. The AS Vital Club forward netted in the 38th, 65th and 75th minute as Amavubi pulled off the biggest shock of the round. Reacting to the clash against Congo in the next round, Constantine said, “We have to plan very carefully for this game and our plan will be based on not conceding goals in the first leg.” “We don’t need to make silly mistakes in first game. Congo are the favourites, but we should not have any problem with that. All we need is to prepare well and anything can happen like it did against Libya,” he added
