VETERAN DEFENDER Hategekimana ‘Gangi’ Bonaventure is set to sign for Etincelles from rivals Marines FC at the end of this season. Hategekimana, 32, revealed to Times Sport yesterday that he has already started preliminary talks with the Turbo King League side and is close to signing a two-year deal. “I am convinced that I will play for Etincelles FC during the 2014/2015 season. The club has shown interest in me and they are giving me a better offer,” he said. The former Rwandan international full back said he is waiting for Etincelles FC to return from the Cecafa Nile Basin championship in Sudan to finalise the deal. Hategekimana reportedly earns around Rwf150, 000 per month at Marines, but his salary is expected to be in the region of Rwf270, 000 per month when he signs for Abdu Bizimana’s side. He said, “Marines FC is a good team but I want a new challenge and I believe Etincelles can offer me that.” Etincelles FC finished the just concluded league season in 10th position with 23 points, level with archrivals Marines, who finished 12th thanks to an inferior goal difference. Hategekimana has played for a number of clubs including APR FC, Rayon Sports, Mukura , SC Kiyovu, Police FC, Espoir FC and Marines FC where he has been for the last two seasons.
