REGGAE ARTISTE Brazza Ahishakiye aka Brazza will be a common face on the entertainment scene after returning home for good. Brazza who has been a visiting artiste based in Burundi says it’s time to settle at home. “After working in Burundi and Tanzania for many years, I think it’s time to come back home and contribute to the development of the music industry,” said Brazza. Born in Burundi to a Rwandan father, the 40-year-old has been in the music industry since 1990. He says his parents moved to Burundi in 1959 from Huye district in the Southern Province. He has so far recorded over 100 songs of which 45 already have videos released. He currently has two albums with a third one on the way. He launched his first album in 2003 in Tanzania. He is well known for songs such as Yemeze amenyo, Twiganirira, Uzaze, Iwawa, Ubwambere and Singer Man among others. “I want to come with my own style, something new to the industry, and that is why I’m planning to launch my third album soon,” he said. Brazza says he wants to focus on music that encourages love and peace and reconciliation among Rwandans. He is looking forward to working with the youth by sensitising them through nation building projects and hard work. His inspiration comes from his experience and the need to foster love, peace and reconciliation in the country. The musician said he is ready and prepared to work with any other artiste interested in taking his music to the next level.
