RAYON SPORTS volleyball club players have gone without pay for the last four months. The development was confirmed yesterday by the club players who preferred anonymity for fear of being sacked. “It is too long since we last got paid. We have spent four months without getting our salaries. Though we are featuring in the on-going league, we are not all right at all,” one of the players told this paper. The Rayon Sports Volleyball club chairman, Erasme Ntazinda confirmed that the club owes players’ salaries, adding that they are doing everything possible to sort out the issue as soon as possible. “It’s true players have not been paid but we are working on resolving the issue. We are hoping to get the players’ salaries. The issue will be sorted out before the season ends,” said Ntazinda. Rayon Sports is expected to face Umubano Blue Tigers and GSOB in today’s matches of the national volleyball league. Arch rivals APR will host St. Joseph and Inatek before proceeding to the playoffs round. In other matches, third-placed Kigali Volleyball Club faces Rusumo High School, Christ Roi and UR-Huye. Ngororero takes on PSVF and Kirehe; while College of Education faces Lycee de Nyanza.
