Rwanda junior national team coach Richard Tardy has summoned 21 players to start preparations for next month’s Africa Youth Championship qualifier against Gabon. Rwanda qualified to the second round without dropping a sweat following the withdrawal of their would-be opponents South Sudan in March. Frenchman Tardy has split his team preparations in two phases; the team will join camp from April 28 to 30 before releasing players back to their clubs to prepare for the final round of the Turbo King Football league set to be played on May 3. The players will again re-assemble for training on May 4 before hosting their Gabonese counterparts in Kigali on May 11. The return leg will be played on May 24 in Libreville. Valencia Academie Futelite pair of Yves Rwigema and Anderson Neza is expected to jet in the country today, while Arsenal reserve side midfielder Alfred Martin Mugabo will join camp on May 3. The winner between Rwanda and Gabon will take on the victor between Sierra Leone/Guinea and Ghana in the final qualifying round. Only seven places are up for grabs to join the hosts, Senegal for the finals tournament. The semi-finalists in Senegal will represent Africa at the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand.
