Rwanda’s representatives APR lost their opening match against defending champions, Pepiline in this year’s Africa Women Club Championships that started yesterday in Carthage, Tunisia. The Kenyan champions dominated their Rwandan counterparts 3-0 (25-12, 25-16 name 25-17) in less than two hours. APR will next face Cameroonian champions FAP Cameroun today and will wind up their group stage against Chlef of Algeria. Last year, APR finished in top four but Viateur Sibomana, before the team’s departure on Thursday, insisted that they want to make improvements this time round. The winner of the African title will however be forced to go through a qualification play off against other teams as qualifier for the World Club Championships to be held in Zurich later this year.
