RELEGATION battling side Esperance are eager to defy odds and surprise SC Kiyovu to book a place in the last eight of the Peace cup competition. Both sides engage in an uphill task of the 1/8th round this afternoon at Mumena turf. Head coach Camarade Banamwana said yesterday that his players are primed for the match and has called on his opponents to expect a rough outing. “Every player and coach becomes famous when they defeat big clubs. Our target is eliminating SC Kiyovu and progress to the quarter finals.” “Players are motivated and ready to go down in the arena with a winning spirit,” Banamwana noted. Last year, Banamwana helped second division club Bugesera eliminate Rayon Sports to reach the semi final stage of the Peace Cup. Banamwana points out that despite his team being at the bottom of the table with 16 points, he is too confident to grab a victory over SC Kiyovu which has been bogged by financial constraints lately. In a recent match SC Kiyovu and Esperance, settled for a goalless draw. Esperance reaches 1/8th round after seeing off Vision Jeunesse Nouvelle 1-0 in a preliminary round.
