Employees of the Post Office Friday honoured victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi with a Walk to Remember that started at their headquarters and ended at Gisozi Genocide Memorial. Celestin Kayitare, the Director General National Post Office, said the organisation lost 27 staff to the Genocide. “We decided to visit the memorial as we also remember our staff members who died,” he said, urging Rwandans to be strong as they grieve during this commemoration period. On the same day, the staff of I&M Bank Rwanda (formerly BCR) also held a Walk to Remember in memory of the one million people killed during the Genocide. The Managing Director, Sanjeev Anand, encouraged Rwandans to maintain hope as they remember those who perished. “I&M Bank is among the Rwandan companies that lost members of staff during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. During a time like this, we honour their memory, draw lessons from the terrible crime against humanity and together raise our voices to say, never again,” he said.
