Rafiki and Chameleon in cahoots Latest on grapevine is that, the Choga master Rafiki Mazimpaka, is collaborating with Uganda’s famous hip hop star, Jose Chameleon, to release a song. Chameleon, who has staged several shows in Rwanda, singled out the Rafiki’s talent when he was in the country, during the week of Pan-African Dance Festival (FESPAD). Meanwhile, scouts have it that the Ugandan singer, whose real name is Joseph Mayanja, decided with Rafiki to sing the song in two vernacular languages: Kinyarwanda and Kiganda. After taking Choga music to Jamaica, Rafiki, 27, has earned for himself fame. Rafiki has previously collaborated with Tanzania’s Professor Jay. Impromptu dancer invited to U.S.Did you see the girl who stormed the stage when the two American sister-singers of Jamaican origin were performing during FESPAD? Well, her moves have earned herself a ticket to the United States this December to meet Brick and Lace. She stole the show when the two vocalists asked volunteers to come on stage. In a blink of an eye, she was bringing out their style better than those displayed in the clip of ‘Love is wicked’. A seemingly elderly girl, a little overweight was greeted with less enthusiasm! Where on earth are the Holy Jay Doves? This is really sad news. Last time, we reported how Rwanda’s once popular RnB singer, BIG DOM had refrain from singing due to competition. We can now exclusively reveal that another singing group, the Holy Jay Doves, is on the brink of collapse. We last heard them singing two years ago when they performed at the Petite Stad, Remera. And they are nowhere to be seen… The group was comprised of teenage Rastafarians who used to sing reggae music. However, it is rumoured that the once famous group is experiencing financial difficulties. Man loses face over prostitute Drama erupted last Sunday in one of the city flats when one prominent man failed to pay a prostitute he had hired for a night. Residents were woken to wails made by this prostitute only identified as Babisha, as she was busy hauling insults at the man who she claimed had refused to pay her. “No one plays around with me. I need my money and I will not leave this place without it you fool,” Babish shouted to a closed door. This was after the pair had gone on a drinking spree touring all the best joints in the city and retiring for the night after midnight. The gentleman’s wife was apparently visiting her relatives in the village, which provided an opportunity for him to taste a different fruit. Meanwhile, our source says that, when the prostitute discovered that she might not get a single coin from the man’s pockets, she threatened to stickle in his bedroom nakedly. After taking off her top, the gentleman was forced to throw three pink notes out of the window. Later it was discovered that the man had gone out alone but as the night progressed, he was tempted to pick this beautiful chic. What he did not know was that the chic was actually on night duty and saw him as a potential customer. After spending on a lot on food and drinks, the poor man thought he was entitled to a good free night with Madam Babish. After a long night, Babish asked for him to pay Frw20,000 to which the man reacted by kicking her out of the house saying he did not go out to buy prostitutes. Things calmed down after she picked the fifteen thousand francs that were thrown to her and she walked away leaving neighbours laughing at the spectacle. Ends
