The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expelled six members of the South African diplomatic staff in protest over the latter’s harbouring of Rwandan dissidents. “We have expelled six S. African diplomats in reciprocity and concern at SA harbouring of dissidents responsible for terrorist attacks in Rwanda,” Foreign Affairs minister Louise Mushikiwabo announced on her Twitter handle yesterday. There were no further details as we went to press, but unconfirmed reports say three Rwandan diplomats were also expelled by South Africa. South Africa is one of the major bases of Rwandan dissidents accused of being behind a spate of grenade attacks in Kigali.
