Fespad week ends

KIGALI - The Minister of Culture and Sports, Joseph Habineza Saturday evening marked the end of the week-long Pan-African Dance Festival (FESPAD) in Kigali. The minister thanked all Fespad participants who turned up in big numbers for every event that took place in and outside Kigali City, the President and the numerous artists that took part in the festival. The minister specially thanked the President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, for the support he rendered the event. Different sponsors of the festival were awarded certificates of appreciation. These included Primus, Riepa, ORTPN, BCR Bank, MTN, Sulfo Industries, Electrogaz, Contact FM and the European Union. The minister appealed to artists to work hard for better quality work in order to make an impact on the market that is available here in Rwanda. The minister informed the public that November 21, world-renowned musicians known as UB40, will be here in Rwanda for a grand show. He urged them to start saving for it since they had shown commitment to FESPAD. The minister promised that such events will always be prepared without waiting for FESPAD. Meanwhile, Jean Christophe Matata commonly known for his song Amaso akunda, brought the crowd to its feet after the minister’s remarks. Ends
