Thanks to goals from Bertrand Iradukunda, Abdoul Sibomana and Kevin Muhire and an own goal from Sunrise, Isonga bagged a win of the season. “We deserved to win this game because we controlled the ball from beginning to the end. My players are in good shape to hammer any side,” Isonga FC head coach Yves Rwasamanzi told this paper in a telephone interview. He also added, “The major target is earning promotion back to premier league and we want to win all the remaining matches of the league and I believe we have got what it takes to make it happen.” As it stands in Pool A, Sunrise still leads with 29 points, seven ahead of Isonga. Sorwathe and Vision Jeunesse come third and fourth with 22 points while Rwamagana are fifth-placed with 21points. Struggling Akagera FC are placed at the tip of the pool with a single point. In Pool B, Interforce lead the standings with 20 points, SEC Academy and Etoile de l’Est stand second and third with 18 points respectively while Unity lie in fourth spot with 17 points. Pepiniere are placed bottom with 4 points.
