Miss Rwanda Kigali selections The final selections of Miss Rwanda 2014 will be held in Kigali after picking contestants from provinces around the country. The pre-selections will take place at Petit Stade in Remera starting at 5pm this Saturday. Entrance is free. Karaoke Micha’s Bistro Café located at Muhima will feature Karaoke and live music tonight. Heaven Restaurant located in Kiyovu features Happy hour nightly from 5pm – 7pm (buy one get one free on wine and local beers). Grill and Barbeque located in Kacyiru after PSI Rwanda has Karaoke from 8pm. Entrance is free and there are prizes to be won for the best singers. Those that enjoy strip dancing have not been left out; you can find these every Friday and Saturday at Jorgyz (Vision) just before King Faisal Hospital in Kacyiru. Photography consortium Borrowing from the popular ‘First Friday’ art night idea from the US, The Office will this Friday host the February edition of “1STFriday” starting at 6pm. It is a platform that brings together friends, supporters, art-lovers to enjoy innovative art. Entrance is free. Cinema Century Cinema, located at Kigali City Towers, is screening various movies. They include, The hobbit: The desolation of Smug , Thor 2: The Dark World, Black Nativity, Captain Phillips, The Counselor, Bullet Raja, Frozen, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty which premiers on December 27. Entrance fee varies between Rwf3500 and Rwf5000 for screenings in 2D, 3D and 5D and on weekdays and weekend. There’s a special discount for children and students. From Monday to Thursday, 2D movies are Rwf2500 and 3D movies are Rwf3500. Movie Premiere “SAKABAKA” the series is set to release the first four episodes this Sunday at Serena Hotel. It is the first series produced in Rwanda and will feature 20 episodes by the end of this year. The premier will start at 4:30pm and entrance is Rwf5000. The series features Rwandan movie stars such as Dennis Nsanzamahoro (Rwasa),Marie France Niragire, Liane Mutaganzwa, Parfait Nizigiyimana and Sonia Fidelite Irakoze. Gospel concert Gospel musician Isaie Uzayisenga will be launching his much acclaimed album “Amashimwe” in a live concert at ADEPR church (Gakinjiro). He will be joined by choirs Amahoro, Shalom and also gospel sensation Alex Dusabe. The concert will start at 2pm and entrance is free.
