January 26th marked the 56th Grammy Awards – the biggest award show for music. The red carpet was studded with glamourous stars. Here is a peek at what the rich and famous wore: Beyonce Beyonce, who opened this year’s Grammys with her Drunk in Love performance with producer/rapper husband Jay Z, wore a tantalizing lace Michael Costello gown. The gown featured a lace applique over a sheer mesh base. The creme lace, which covers in all the right places, gave a brilliant feminine look to Beyonce’s seductive dress. The plunge back accentuated all of her curves. She wore deep red lipstick for dramatic flair, and kept her hair crimped and down -- telling the world that Bey does what Bey wants. Taylor Swift Taylor Swift, whose album Red was nominated for “Album of the Year,” gets more sophisticated with every event. The 24-year-old songstress wore a stunning metallic column gown by Italian designer Gucci. The gold fitted strapless base with silver mesh overlay was a stunning combination. She paired with soft makeup, and a casual swept back ponytail. Katy Perry Katy Perry, who performed her single Dark Horse on stage, never ceases to disappoint. Her ensembles always carry a bit of playfulness, and this year’s Grammys were no exception. Katy wore a Valentino Couture music dress. The bodice was fitted with a sweetheart neckline. The long flowing skirt and train featured measures of treble clef musical notes. Her performance at the Grammy’s must have hit a note with her fans – she is now the most followed person in Twitter history with 50 Million followers. Pink Nominated for Song of the Year with FUN musician Nate Ruess for “Just Give Me a Reason,” Pink wore a stunning red trumpet dress by Johanna Johnson. The sweetheart neckline bodice cascaded to a fitted form around her hips, and then loosely draped to the floor. Her hair, once iconic pink, was bleach blonde with a slight mohawk. She accented with dropped earrings and a thick diamond bracelet. Christy Tiegen The wife of John Legend was an absolute stunner at the awards show. Her husband’s album Love in the Future was nominated for best R&B album. And his song All of Me has been climbing the charts for the last several weeks. She wore a gold metallic mermaid dress with slight exaggerated train. The dress featured a thigh high center slit, and the bodice had a slight art deco feel with a “v” cut in the front. She accented her dress with romantic flowing hair and a gold box clutch. That’s the fashion scoop for this week. Got a thought? Trend? Style you hate? Send it my way.
