Espoir coach lauds senior players

Espoir FC coach Emmanuel Ruremesha has said that the vast experience of his older players has been vital in steering the Rusizi-based club to the unprecedented heights of top five in the ongoing national league. Ruremesha replaced Hamiss Sogonya Kishi, who was sacked at the end of last season and was tasked to put Espoir among the top six, and with the way things are turning out, it appears as though the former Rayon Sports coach is on track to achieve that target. Espoir, who are in fifth position on the table with 28 points and six points behind leaders APR, will host Marines on Saturday at Rusizi stadium on the 16th day of the league. It will be the biggest achievement for Espoir if they are to finish in the top six, and despite the applaud Ruremesha continues to receive for doing an exceptional job, the man himself thinks his senior players take the credit, for, their experience has been key to taking the team to its current position. The former Kibuye coach has in his ranks the likes of former Amavubi Stars’ strikers Said Abed Makasi, Andre Lomami, defender Elias Ntaganda, Aimable Rucogoza Mambo and former SC Kiyovu goalkeeper Bate Shamiilu. He noted, “We’re playing well and have gained a good position, but we need to continue to work hard and put more points on board to be among the best teams in the league.” “Our league position is a reward for the hard work we’re doing on the training ground, and also the older players, with their vast experience, have made a great contribution,” Ruremesha told Times Sport.
