The African Volleyball Governing Board has chosen Tunisia to host the 2014 Women’s African club Championship, due April 17-28. The decision means that Tunisia will organise both the club championships for Men and Women after the North African country had earlier been awarded the rights to host the Men’s championships, from March 18-30. Rwanda will be represented by APR in the women category and the National University of Rwanda in the men category. In women category, the 2014 edition will however not serve as the qualifier for the Club World Championships, according to the World Volleyball Governing body, FIVB, after Africa lost automatic slots. In men category, the winner will earn a direct ticket to the Cub World Championship in Brazil. CAVB has put February 20 as the deadline to have confirmed participation. Kenya Prisons are the defending champions for the women. Meanwhile, Rwanda senior men’s national team won the first two of the scheduled four international friendly matches against Botswana. Paul Bitok’s team won the first match on Saturday 3-1, (23-25, 25 -22, 25-18, 25-14) and the second on Sunday 3-0, (25 -22, 25-18, 25-20).
