South Sudan’s warring factions sign ceasefire
ADDIS ABABA. South Sudan’s government and rebels have signed a ceasefire to end more than five weeks of fighting that divided Africa’s newest nation and brought it to the brink of civil war.
The UN estimates that considerably more than 1,000 people have been killed in South Sudan over the last month. The conflict has triggered a grave humanitarian crisis, with hundreds of thousands fleeing their homes. Net photo.
