Rwamagana-based Sunrise FC continues to top Pool A of the second division football league after picking a 2-1 victory over Intare FC on Saturday at Rwamagana playgrounds.Sunrise, who finished third in the last season after piping Bugesera by 1-0 in the third place play-off match, seem determined to fight for place in topflight division next season after finishing the first round with 23 points, seven points ahead of second-placed Sorwathe.In another Pool A match played on Saturday, fifth-placed Kirehe won 2-1 against struggling Vision FC, who are in eighth position in the 10-team Pool with just six points from nine league matches. Vision Fc have won one drew three and lost five games.In pool B, last year’s Peace Cup semi-finalists Bugesera lost 2-1 to Interforce FC, while the College of Arts and Social Sciences (former National University of Rwanda) lost 0-1 at home to visiting Etoile de l’Est.SEC Academy lead Pool B with 15 points, one point clear of second and third-placed Interforce and Etoile de l’Est respectively. Unity FC comes in fourth with 13 points, while ASPOR stand fifth of the pool with 10 points.
