Editor,I find it a good idea to construct three stadiums in Eastern Province. However, I really wonder if this fits well within the government’s medium- and long-term plans. Look at the capacity of the planned Nyagatare Stadium will have. In my view, a stadium with a capacity of 7,000 people will be relatively very small, especially since Nyagatare District is a designated secondary city. This could mean that that after its construction, we might immediately need to expand it or to demolish it altogether and construct a bigger one.Henry Kakooza, Rwanda******************************These are certainly good projects, no question about it. But I wonder whether Rwandans really appreciate the great achievements weve registered as a nation in the recent past and those we are envisaging.Look at the well-paved roads we have constructed in such a short period of time. The football pitches. The economy. Peace and security. The list is so long. What we need to do as citizens is to support our leaders and continue to stand with them as they work even harder to take our country to the next level.Innocent Hodali, RwandaReactions to the story, “Three stadiums planned for Eastern Province” (The New Times, January 15)
