Kris Humphries entered a jewelry store and ordered, or rather, bought a diamond ring worth two million dollars for his now ex wife, socialite, Kim Kardashian. Where did that take him? She is now engaged to rapper Kanye West, whom she started dating just months after her breakup with Humphries, before her divorce was even final!So, those people who think that a man’s love is determined by how expensive the ring he gets her is think again!Engagement rings are just a way to show that two people have taken their relationship to the next level. Ladies, if you seriously think that the price of the ring is the one that will tell you just how serious a man is then you are in for a rude awakening. After being with someone for a year or so, you should be able to tell the measure of love he has for you; don’t wait for the ring because it has nothing to do with it!Let me break it down for any guy planning to get engaged; if you gave your girlfriend a ring and she refused it just because it wasn’t as expensive as others then trust me, she isn’t the one for you. Run away from that gold-digger. A lady who loves you would rather have you save up for a car or future home than spend millions on some ring. Just because I got a debt and sold some of my stuff to buy an engagement ring worth a million doesn’t make me love my girlfriend anymore than I already did. So ladies, don’t get the whole thing twisted. The price is usually just to make sure you go tell your friends about it but it is never about how someone feels. Perhaps the most important financial decision when deciding how much to spend on the ring is how much you can actually afford?Don’t get caught up in statistics and numbers that claim a certain amount is the average engagement ring cost. Instead, take a look at your own finances.I can’t recommend going into debt to get the ring. If you are going to buy a fancy ring, save money so that you can pay for it in cash.Don’t put off other saving goals, such as contributing to your retirement or stashing money away for an emergency.And seriously, what are guys doing telling the ladies how much the ring cost anyway. I want her in my life, that’s true, but she has no business knowing every nitty gritty detail like ring expenses! That’s actually not necessary.
