Dear editor,It is a reality that the people in Ethiopia are dying from starvation especially in the region of Africa. I wonder what effort the UN is injecting in the whole condition of the Ethiopians. This famine caused by the long drought has made the country’s land barren and unproductive. There is surely no source of food for the starving Ethiopians and the irony of the whole matter is that the world is silent and just looking on. Some few international organizations are putting in a little effort like UNICEF. However, the international bodies like the Global Fund, UN and the EU who are well equipped with funds, cannot fail to save the people of Ethiopia from the devastating effects of famine. Scenarios where people starve to death are not a new thing in Ethiopia but there has never been any lasting solution. KICUKIRO
