EASTERN PROVINCE RWAMAGANA — Secondary school Head teachers have agreed to work together to stem genocide ideology out of schools. This was one of the resolutions reached during a one-week meeting of representatives of school heads from across the country. The meeting held at AVEGA, in Rwamagana district was aimed at drawing a comprehensive three-year action plan to tackle several challenges. According to Aloys Ndaruhutse, the president of the Association of Rwandan secondary school directors, known by its French acronym as FERADES, their plan aim to fight genocide ideology through partnership in order to improve the quality of education. The partnership will also involve sharing of ideas and training. Ndaruhutse is the head teacher of Groupe Scolaire Kabare in Ngoma. “We have been here to deliberate on a plan of action for three years,” said Ndaruhutse. He explained that FERADES also does advocacy for secondary school teachers and observed that their association has helped to bind members together in promoting education. Ends
