Today: APR v PoliceFri: Atraco v RayonMon: Rayon v Etincelles After a gripping Cecafa/Kagame club championship in Tanzania, the national football league action returns today when nine-time champions APR take on relegation threatened Police Fc at Camp Kigali. APR will focus on shaking off their poor display in the two-week long club tournament where they failed to get past the quarter-final stage after being ejected by Tanzania’s Simba. Dutch-born Rene Feller who ensured that APR takes part in next year’s African Confederation Cup after winning the Amahoro Cup, is hoping for more silverware from the league title. After 19 league games, APR are second on the table with 46 points, four adrift of leaders Atraco. However, a win today will leave the military side one point behind Atraco, who have a game in hand against 2004 champions Rayon Sport this Friday at Shorongyi grounds. Atraco’s victory on Friday will increase their chances of bagging their first league honors since their promotion into the top flight about three years ago. Initially, that fixture had been scheduled for today but Rayon Sport’s late arrival from the just ended Cecafa championships forced Ferwafa to push it forward. The blues are third on the table with 40 points. After their game with Atraco, Rayon play away to relegation bound Etincelles. Ends
