Day care centres are places where children between six months and two years are taken to be looked after when their parents are busy at work and do not have time to look after them at home. At such places, children are given the full attention and care, which they would have otherwise received, from their parents and house cleaners while at home. People who work in daycares centres are usually experts in childcare. Children are involved in creative and educative activities, which enable them to interact with others at the centre. Children are also allowed to play games of their choice. A basic education is given to the toddlers to prepare them for nursery school. Day care centres also provide nutritious food for children. Administrators at the centre make sure children are given a well-balanced diet and this sometimes combats poor eating habits at home. Ends
