After hours of endless debates about her outfit at the closing concert of the Giants of Africa festival, renowned Rwandan disc jockey Sonia Kayitesi, popularly known as DJ Sonia, has finally broken her silence on the issue that has been making rounds on various social media platforms. As an artist, I strive to express myself through various means, including my fashion choices, the Magic FM DJ said in a statement shared with The New Times. However, Sonia also clarified that she understands that everyone has different preferences and opinions when it comes to fashion, which is why she takes all feedback seriously and continues to consider the opinions of her fans. I want to assure all my fans that my intention is always to bring creativity and uniqueness to my performances, while respecting the event and its audience. Ultimately, my goal is to create memorable and impactful experiences for my fans, and I will always strive to strike a balance between my artistic expression and the expectations of my audience, Sonia added. DJ Sonia is one of Rwanda's most successful female DJs, having performed at major events including the Basketball Africa League (BAL) finals and the Giants of Africa festival among many others.
