TUFF GANG, a four-man group of local hip hop artistes is setting up a company that will promote hip-hop style of music in the country. Fireman, one of the crew members, said the company will fight negative public perceptions about hip-hop. “Out there, many still consider hip-hop as music for drug addicts which to me is totally wrong; and based on my experience, this discourages many talented young people from joining us,” he said. Other members of the group are Bull Dog, Jay Polly and Green P. According Fireman, the company that will have a website will not only focus on promoting the group but also inviting new and younger talent into the music industry, especially those with inclination to hip-hop. Fireman said that although the group will not directly get involved in the day-to-day running of the company, it will perform supervisory functions on the activities and roles played in regard to its aims and mission. Meanwhile, the group will release two singles by the end of this month. “As we wind-up the year, we are giving our funs two singles. It is not something I want to reveal details at the moment, because we want to take the public by surprise. I am very sure that the songs will be hits of the year,” he said.
