THE Ferwafa vice president Raoul Gisanura is among five candidates who declared their candidature in the Rwanda Football Federation’s top seat on Wednesday.The elections are slated to take place during the Ferwafa Annual General Meeting scheduled to be held on January 5 at the Ferwafa headquarters in Kigali.Other potential candidates who submitted their documents ahead of the December 4 deadline include; Sports Empowerment Academy (SEC) chairman Augustin Munyandamutsa, ex-Kiyovu chairman Jean-Daniel Mbanda, former APR FC secretary general, De Gaulle Nzabamwita and incumbent president Celestin Ntagungira Abega.Speaking to Times Sport, Gisanura who was elected recently on the executive committee of Cecafa said, “I have submitted my documents and I am eager to ensure I develop Rwandan football to an outstanding level,”“I have been in the federation for the past 12 years and I believe I can make it happen,” added Gisanura.Gisanura is also a chairman of Cecafa Club Championship (Kagame Cup), chairman of Ferwafa Media commission and is also a founder and honourable chairman of Gasabo FC.Ferwafa will unveil the official list of all candidates vying for different posts on December 20.The new Ferwafa executive board will be consisting of 11 individuals to be elected and appointed by the association’s membership of presidents of the clubs both in the women and men’s divisions at next month’s Annual General Meeting.There will be elections for the positions of president, vice president in charge of administration, head of finance, youth football, women, disciplinary committee and the in-charge of medical will be in charge for a four-year term.
