The countdown to the finale is on. The contestants are acutely aware that as they work on their final week, the winner is among them and the decision is now fully in the hands of East Africa. Tusker Project Fame season six will be sealed on Sunday, but prior to that, there will be a semi finale on Saturday that will see one contestant evicted from the academy and five contestants making it to this season’s grand finale, amongst which we shall have one winner crowned.Yesterday, Coach Kavutha went into the Academy for her usual lesson. It was a special session as Tim Rimbui and Atemi came back to the Academy to say a special Thank You to the contestants for a job well done last weekend. Atemi and Tim came bearing gifts, with Waabeh T- shirts and headphones. The contestants were pretty pleased, with Hisia commenting that the superstar lifestyle included lots of free stuff.Hisia is the house captain this week and he thanked Tim and Atemi on behalf of the rest.Once they left, the contestants continued with footage review for the shows on Saturday and Sunday. Watching the boys’ group performance, Amos noted that they did better than they thought initially. Kavutha encouraged them to be more careful with their performances moving forward, and watch not to shout when they get excited.Watching his performance, Hope was the picture of concentration. At some point, he started to smile, specifically when he sang the final parts of his mash up. He stated that he felt the song and loved the mash up because it was a great song choice. However, Patrick was chastised by Kavutha for not finding a decent end to his mash up. She reminded him that they had spoken about the performance and finding a good end but Patrick did not end the mash up as agreed.In the afternoon, Principal Eric came into the Academy. As announced, Band Leader and pianist extraordinaire, Aaron Rimbui would be the Music Director for the week. The contestants were thrilled to be working with Aaron and Eric on their final week. It was poetic that the people they begun their journey with are the people they will finish their journey with.Also in the Academy are a few song writers, who are working with the contestants this week. Among the names are the Week Two Music Director, Eric Musyoka, the legendary Chris Adwar, TimRimbui among others. Also planned for the week would be a few special guests due to visit the contestants in the Academy. The faces might be recognizable to fans of Tusker Project Fame over the years and should make this the biggest and best final week in Tusker Project Fame history. With just five days to the finale, all contestants in the academy stand an equal opportunity to pocket the money plus a one year record deal with Universal Music Group South Africa.
