Sunrise FC head coach Hassan Muhire says he needs a centre forward to lead his attack at the Nyagatare based club this season. Sunrise suffered a 2-0 defeat to high flying Police FC in their opening league match on Sunday and the likes of Yafesi Mubiru, Samson Babua and new signing Robert Mukoghotya struggled to find the back of the net. Muhire claimed that the attackers that he has at his disposal have struggled to adapt to his system during the game because they are not real centre forwards. So the football you’re talking about is one thing and the real football is another,” he said in a post-match interview. Sunrise reinforced their attack during the transfers window, bringing in Mukura VS talisman Mukoghotya who joined star duo Mubiru and Babuwa to lead the team’s attack this season. Mubiru and Babua scored 21 goals between them last season while Mukongotya netted 13 goals for Mukura Victory Sports. But none of them fits in what their coach Muhire wants in a centre forward. The players are not compatible with what I want to play, I need a real striker who plays 9 (Center forward), and I don't have on now, Muhire claimed. Yafesi Mubiru scored 14 goals last season with none of them coming from the box. The twist is that, Babuwa scores the goals from second balls. They all have goals but none of them play like a real number 9, he added. Sunrise will be hoping to bounce back when they welcome Eastern Province nighbours Etoile de l’Est on Saturday, August 26, at Nyagatare Stadium.
