EASTERN PROVINCE BUGESERA — The Anglican Diocese of Kigali has donated maize flour worth Frw736, 000 to residents of Gakorazi, Musenyi Sector in Bugesera District. The items were handed over on Wednesday by the sector Executive Secretary Charles Nsengumva, at a ceremony also graced by the Archbishop of the Anglican Church, Emmanuel Kolini. At least 334 residents of the community left behind by the country’s history benefited from the donation. “The church has done a lot in regard to improving the social welfare of the residents. This has made a positive impact in our community,” Nsengumva said of the donation. He promised that the sector would continue to partner with the church for social transformation of residents. He disclosed that the area leadership intends to construct settlement houses (Imidugudu) to integrate those left behind in the society. On his apart, Kolini reaffirmed the church’s resolve to help in transforming social welfare of citizens. He highlighted agriculture development among their areas of intervention among the group. He urged the group to desist from inferiority complex and join the rest for national development. “We were all created by God and this means that we are equal before Him. You should join the rest for national development because God gave you wisdom,” Kolini said, adding that this would bail them out of isolation. Ends
