This year’s East African inter-schools’ games will cost an estimated Frw116 millions, organizers, the ministry of Education have confirmed. The director of sports in the ministry Pattern Rwigema told the Times Sport that the money will cater for the participating teams’ internal transportation, meals, lodging, entertainment costs as well as allowances for games’ officials. The games are scheduled to run between August 22 and 31 here in Kigali. They (organizers) expect to host up to 1450 participants from schools from Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya and Burundi. Each participating team will comprise mostly of two teams (boys and girls) in each particular event including football, volleyball, handball, basketball, rugby, and hockey. Only netball will have only girls’ teams. According to Rwigema, the boys’ teams will be staying at ETO Kicukiro whereas the girls have been booked at Red Cross hostels. Ends
