Rugby League TodaySharks v Buffalos SundayLions de Fer v GorillaKaduha v PumaSimba v Grizzlies Local rugby fans are up for some gripping action this weekend when local giants lock horns in the national rugby league. Today, Sharks are up against table leaders Buffaloes while reigning champions Gorilla take on three-time champions Lions de Fer at Rugunga. Gorilla’s strength will be put to for a stun test against bitter rivals Lions de Fer who are having a mixed season after winning two games and losing two. On the other hand, Gorillas, who trail table leaders Buffalos by two points, are desperate to keep their winning tempo intact. The Nyamirambo outfits have not dropped any points after winning their three league ties against Sharks, Simba and Buffaloes. Lions de Fer’s coach-player Jean de la Paix Hategekimana has promised an entertaining game from the three-time league champions. “We have had a shaky season but we shall give them a good run for their money,” he warned. “We have beaten them in the past, so we feel we can do it again. They are in form but we shall not buckle,” Hategekimana affirmed. However, Gorillas’ assistant coach Jean Baptiste Itanzi is optimistic about the champions’ chances. “The players are in great shape so there is nothing to worry about,” he said. All teams with the exception of UNR’s Grizzlies are dressed by BCR, one of the top banks in Rwanda. Ends
