Kigali Fashion Show: it was a panorama of latest fashion trends

It was motley of both local and international fashionatas and fashion lovers, as the Kigali Fashion Show came to a close last Friday, at Serena hotel, Kigali.And what a stunning show it was. All beautiful and latest fashion trends were on display. And people of all walks of life came in their hundreds to watch what the country has to offer in the fashion industry.The well organised show left many people impressed. Apart from the cocktail that enabled people to mix and share their ideas freely before the main event, many people said that Kigali Fashion Week was hugely successful. John Bunyeshuli, CEO of Kigali fashion week, said that he was inspired by the country’s beauty some two years ago to start the fashion show. “Rwanda has beautiful people. Rwanda is a great country. And Rwanda as a country has beauty that goes with fashion. This is an important step in marketing the fashion industry internationally.”He added that the fashion show was also a pivotal way through which designers showcase their skills in designing. “It’s a great feeling when different people come out to exhibit their passion and industry,” he added.Frank Prouten from South Africa described the fashion show as a wonderful occasion of bringing people of diverse background together. “Rwanda is interesting professionally in different fields and it’s normally finding new and exciting ways to showcase its beauty. This evening, we are witnesses to a show that ranks as one of the world’s best ever in terms of organisation.”There was a lot on display. Annerose Muyombano, a German creative designer displayed jewerlies that left people who attended the show mesmerised. “I started this in Germany but shifted my focus to Rwanda since my products are marketable here in the country. I only wish that we can have more of such shows so that we can be able to market our products which many Rwandans and tourists alike have come to appreciate,” she added.The only blight to this otherwise successful show was when a number of journalists were denied entry into the main event, because they didn’t have identity cards. However, they decided to have their good time in the cocktail outside the gated venue where there were still more to drink and more people to interview as they streamed in to participate in the fashion show.
