FORMER LEAGUE CHAMPIONS Rayon Sports have appointed Belgian Jean Francois Losciuto as their new head coach ahead of the new season. Among the 12 coaches who had sought the vacant head coach position, Losciuto was picked because of his vast experience in football coaching. He replaces another Belgian Luc Eymael who left the club in late May and has since secured a job in Tunisia. According to club president Theogene Ntampaka, Losciuto’s task is to ensure that Rayon Sports win the Cecafa Kagame Club championship which will be held in Kigali from August 9-23. “We have picked Lusciuto because of his knowledge and experience in football. He has previously coached in Africa and we believe he will take Rayon Sports to another level. We are expecting him in Kigali next week to sign the contract before we unveil him to our fans,” added Ntampaka. Losciuto who holds a Uefa Licence A, has managed different clubs in Belgium such as FC Liege and Verviers reserve side. The 42-year-old coach joins after a six-month stint with Togo’s Anges FC de Notsè which he left in March after losing a Champions league first round match against Enyimba of Nigeria. Rayon Sports will lead Rwanda’s quest for honours in the Cecafa Kagame Cup which is set to attract clubs from across the region.
