Editor, RE: “The SGR project and Tanzania route are both important” (The New Times, June 6). Let’s face facts: Rwanda has no capacity to connect through Kenya and at the same time through Tanzania. Rwanda should choose Central Corridor, however, this may take time to be realised. Kenya has huge potential up north, Ethiopia, South Sudan and parts of Jubaland in Somalia have options to connect through Lamu. Areas north of Tanzania like Arusha are better off through Mombasa than Dar es Salaam. The major challenge about some of these projects is the ability to mobilise funds. It’s not easy as it seems. Tom
