Rwandans in US release Genocide song

A team of young Rwandans based in the United States of America on Monday released a visual song, Intashyo, dedicating it to over a million lives lost in the Genocide against the Tutsi and the people of Rwanda. Source: Provocative Entertainment/Youtube “We as artistes came together and thought it would be best if we used our talent to record and dedicate a song to the many lives our country lost during the Genocide against Tutsi. We also made this song for the people of Rwanda who strive for a better future everyday,” explained Didier Ganza, the director of the song. The song features artistes Pacifique Buramba Jabiro a,k,a Jay Pac, a 24 year old Rwandan rapper who lives in Boston, Massachusetts. He does Hip-hop and Gospel Rap. ‘Ni Uwanjye’ and ‘Isezerano’ were his first singles but he is best known for the hit single ‘Ijana Kwijana’. Yannick Noah Murayire, Ganzas young brother is also part of the song. He is currently attending the art institute for interior architecture. Intashyo also features Julien Rusine aka Ju, an upcoming artiste who raps in French based in Orlando Florida, born in Niamey, Niger but originally from Rwanda. He brings a different style to the Afro Hip Hop song. He was a dancer in Kigali’s Sick City entertainment but now he’s a member of 101 Entertainment. The other performer in the song is Angel Uwamahoro, an actress, poet and activist. Born in Rwanda, Angel is currently completing her studies at Fordham University in New York City. She has performed her own poetry around the world and most recently at the United Nations during the 20th commemoration of the Genocide against the Tutsi. In 2014, she made her Off-Broadway debut at Signature Theatre in the world premiere of Katori Hall’s Our Lady of Kibeho. The video is directed by Didier Ganza, a dancer, actor and musician, who is currently making a name for himself by releasing high quality music videos for artistes around the world. In Provocative Entertainment, Ganza is joined by another film director, Allan Manzi, a former student of Kwetu Film School in Kigali who shoot the short film Broken Change. Manzi currently resides in Stamford, where he works for NBC Universal as he pursues his dream of telling stories through film. Manzi’s new film, Haunted Illusion, is in postproduction and is expected to be released soon.
