A Christian family raised me and taught me that it’s important to forgive because you will live peacefully. It’s also a fact that Jesus asked us to forgive our brothers and sisters, as we want to be forgiven.

Why would I keep the grudge for a lifetime? After all it won’t help me; bitterness in my heart will only make me suffer a lot. I believe if someone acts wrong and you respond by being mean or being vengeful it won’t make the person realise they did wrong.

‘When a man learns to guzzle soup, the woman learns to make it watery’, goes an African proverb. Nobody respects this proverb like the Kigali ‘Happening People’.

Very many schools in Rwanda have removed canteens to insure uniformity amongst students while some still allow students to enjoy them. Society Magazine’s Sheilla Rukundo sought views of different people on the matter.

We are taught that beauty can only be accentuated with the latest styles, trendiest clothing and most expensive accessories. However, all of that does not define ‘beauty’. Beauty in its simplest terms can be seen no matter the size, skin color or personality trait. Sadly, society tells us what is, or is not, beauty.
